IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) is a hardware-level management bus built into the server motherboard — completely separate from the operating system. Unlike SSH which requires the OS to be running, IPMI works even when the server is powered off, frozen, or unbootable. You can access a virtual KVM console (keyboard/video/mouse), mount remote ISO images, control power, read hardware sensor telemetry, and configure BIOS — all from a web browser, from anywhere in the world.
A VPS is a software partition of a physical server using a hypervisor — you share hardware with 20-50 other customers. A dedicated server means the entire physical machine is yours: every CPU core, DRAM module, NVMe drive, and network port. There is no hypervisor overhead, no vCPU scheduling conflicts, no RAM balloon drivers, and no shared storage backends. This makes dedicated the only option for workloads requiring guaranteed, predictable, maximum performance.
Yes — full OS control. We pre-install Ubuntu 20.04/22.04 LTS, Debian 11/12, AlmaLinux 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9, CentOS 7, or Windows Server 2019/2022.
